How To Copy a Graphic

Of course you should not lift a photograph or a map off someone else's web page without their permission. Bob gives you permission to use these pictures, so that is okay. You can make a copy of the picture by pointing to the image with your mouse, then Right Clicking, and Selecting Save Image As from the menu.

When you are starting out, the best way to handle image files is to put them in the same folder as your HTML files. Later, if your web site grows larger, you can creaate an IMAGES folder and put new images in there.

Tips For Web Pictures

Check file size, aim for 10K bytes
Use JPG for photos, compress them.
Use 72 Dots Per Inch and no more.
Use GIF format for clipart, drawings
Reduce GIF number of colors to 16 or 4
Use Alt= to describe the picture
Use Width= and Height= to make pages faster
Learn to use tables with Bgcolor= to create blocks of color
Avoid animated GIFs - they are distracting
Don't put more than 6 pictures per page
