1787 to the Present - A Restoration in Progress
If the Wallblake House is lost, we lose a very important
part of Anguilla's culture and history. As
Anguilla is being thrust into the 21st century,
it is crucial to preserve a window on the past.
We need to act immediately.
2003 Wallblake Restored!Wallblake Historical Tours. Wallblake House, built in 1787, is the oldest and only surviving plantation house on Anguilla. It is one of the few plantation houses in the Caribbean where the entire complex of buildings including the kitchen, stable and workers quarters have survived virtually intact. The Wallblake House Trust is maintaining the complex so that it may thrive as a center for cultural, social and educational events for the entire island community. Tour Hours: Tuesday and Friday, 10:00 am - Noon. Don't forget our annual Fundraising Auction, which will be March 17, 2001. More details soon.
