Wallblake House - A Restoration in Process
The Cistern
The cistern is an excellent example of a type
that was once common: a catchment area and tank
in one. This cistern is believed to be original
with the house.
Recipe for a Cistern:
Dig a trench and line it with cement, fill with
dirt. Mound the dirt above ground level to desired
height. Again cover with cement. Dig out all the dirt.
And you have a cistern the old-fashioned way.
